Sir John Blend is one of our most appreciated specialty blends, created by Vernon Mauris in 1982 as a tribute to his father, Sir Anthony. The inspiration came from evenings on the veranda where the aroma of pipe tobacco and freshly brewed tea filled the air—an atmosphere Vernon wanted to capture in a unique tea blend.

The base is Lapsang Souchong, a black tea known for its distinctive smokiness from traditional drying over open fires. This deep and powerful character is balanced by fresh bergamot and a subtle note of jasmine, giving the tea both elegance and complexity.

The result is a full-bodied and aromatic tea where smoky notes meet bright citrus and soft floral tones. Sir John Blend is particularly enjoyable after a meal or during quiet evenings, and is appreciated by many as a sophisticated tea for those seeking something beyond the ordinary.
