Finally, we can introduce the 2022 harvest of our Japanese teas.
These were flown in back in July and we have been looking forward to presenting them to you.

Japanese tea is very different from the rest of the world. Although the majority of Japanese teas are green, they still bear little resemblance to their Chinese counterparts. While China's green tea tradition is based on clean, light, roasted characters, in Japan we find fuller, umami-rich teas, often with algae notes.

Of course they are made for Japanese cuisine, but they are also exceptionally good with a fine fish and seafood dish. You can also get a very elegant and unique taste contrast with Japanese teas with sweets and cheeses. Well worth trying is a Gyokuro or finer Sencha instead of wine with dessert cheese
